Job Description:

The Engineering Specialist works with engineering departments to develop, implement, and deploy approved operational processes and best practices consistently throughout the company. This position will assist the I.E. departments in special reengineering or new projects, as necessary. The Engineering Specialist will take a lead role in planning and execution of large project implementations or training initiatives. He/She may also manage other subject matter experts to ensure timelines and project deliverables are met and developing Web Application training material for use by Operation Trainers. This position may also be responsible for coordinating Operation Trainers efforts in field training.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for WMS related activities.

  • Involve in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with Operation on daily operation issues, troubleshooting and prevention.

  • Participate in new businesses project implementation.

  • Gathers and analyzes data necessary to develop work measurement.

  • Maintains data within operating plans to highlight conditions and areas for potential change.

  • Verifies the proper application of work measurement to ensure accuracy.

  • Develops action plans and obtains management corrective action commitments.

  • Assesses the impact of long- and short-range forecasts on operating plans.

  • Maintains forecasts, operating plans, and tracking spreadsheets for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent fields

  • Displays understanding of operational barriers and failures, and identifies/improves designs, methods, processes, and flows through collaboration

  • Technical minded with ability to resolve issues related to information systems reporting, report generation and storage, customized reports, and data integration, and writes complex queries and creates databases as needed

  • Prior Industrial Engineering experience is preferred

  • Prior experience using advanced Access and Excel functionalities, (Pivot tables, V-look ups, database creation/maintenance, etc.) is preferred

  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, including weekends and travel is preferred/a plus.

  • Note: There may be opportunities to convert to permanent based on performance during the contract tenure.
