Job Description:

The Assistant Manager manages Relationship and Direct Marketing programs to generate leads, awareness, volume and revenue through email and direct mail channels for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region.  He/she is responsible in building and testing email, forms and landing page assets on Marketo, performing analyses by industry/customer segment to assess the performance of the programs and work with agencies/vendors.  This position requires supervision of the CRM Analyst and reports to the APAC Region Digital Marketing Manager.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Participates in Development and Execution of Activities

    • Assist in development and implementation of selected CRM marketing initiatives across Asia via the email channel and direct mail channel

    • Manage agencies/vendors to deliver and execute planned CRM related initiatives (e.g. scripting, disparity between sales feedback and actual data collected etc.)

    • Build email, forms and landing page assets on Marketo, a marketing automation tool

    • Supports building, testing and blasting ad-hoc emails required for customer communications in Marketo

    • Understand customers' needs to determine program obstacles, problems or opportunities through feedback from the Account Executive and customer surveys

    • Assists in identifying new target segments based on industry trends to expand UPS's market share

    • Develops content beyond the email channel such as videos and banners and integrates content across channels such as UPS.com and social media to strengthen reach of CRM programs

    • Participates in promo code strategy, designs promo code channel plans and creates promo codes to support SMB pricing strategy

    • Presents program enhancements to stakeholders to gain approval and support for integrating new enhancements into the product portfolio

    • Coordinates meetings with other functional groups (i.e., Business Development Group, Marketing Group) to discuss program enhancements and gaps

  • Performs Data Management

    • Monitor performance of campaigns through enterprise system and develop a model approach towards measuring the results of marketing initiatives from the target segments

    • Carries out tests on email and other assets for content quality

    • Performs data analyses to convert raw data into relevant metrics to establish and document program performance (e.g. conversion rate, package volume and revenue generated, ROI, etc.)

    • Analyze and integrate the different customer databases to achieve a coherent standard in data and information management to support effective customer relationship programs and to provide a comprehensive view to the management

    • Identifies key findings from research and refines data results to report to management and stakeholders

    • Compiles and analyses customer survey responses to understand customers' needs and determine useful inputs for future strategies

  • Develops and Delivers Presentations

    • Gathers, compiles, and analyzes relevant research data for inclusion in presentations to stakeholders

    • Creates PowerPoint slides and narratives to be used in formal presentations to key stakeholders

    • Delivers presentations to key stakeholders to share information and keep them informed

    • Responds to stakeholder questions and concerns to ensure understanding of findings and gain commitment and buy-in

  • Supervises and Develops Others

    • Determines employees' training needs to produce continuous development plans

    • Provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance

    • Conducts performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement

    • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals

    • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS's policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Logistics/Supply Chain disciplines

  • Four years of relevant working experience in similar job capacity or related industry

  • Fast learner, proactive team player and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrate technical skills in building simple email and landing pages using Marketo or any other marketing automation tool

  • Demonstrate a strong numerical sense and understanding of relating data and information with business issues

  • Display strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in a second Asian language is helpful but not mandatory.

  • Able to handle presentations to internal and external user groups

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications
