Job Description:

Job Summary
This position oversees the processing of outbound parcels at the company’s package center facilities. He/She conducts pre-operation checks, manages sorting, loading and dispatch operations, and performs post-operation functions. He/She supervises Part-Time Supervisors, Administrative staff, and Hourly employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes previous dispatch results to maximize service performance and streamline routes and ensures outbound packages are processed, loaded, and leave the building on time.

  • Works with service providers to maximize day to day proficiency and ensure packages are delivered in a safe, timely, and professional manner.

  • Completes administrative tasks (i.e., performance reviews, accident reports, service failures, training) in a timely, accurate manner to facilitate the execution of the dispatch plan through the Service Providers.

  • Completes required audits during on-job supervision rides to ensure adherence to UPS policies and procedures.

  • Utilizes technology (Orion, PAS, Telematics, etc.) to identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork.

  • Works with Health & Safety team to ensure the implementation and maintenance of a Comprehensive Health and Safety Plan.

  • Creates a customer focused work environment to emphasize service and focus on building the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
