Job Description:

Job Summary
This position manages multiple ocean related tasks simultaneously while understanding UPS Supply Chain Solutions and the correlation of functions as they relate to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates customer transactions to ensure their needs are met and that operations functions comply with regulations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the customer relationship through periodic inquiries, proactive or reactive contact.
  • Resolves complaints between functional groups.
  • Processes ocean freight orders, reviews quotes/rates, audits, and investigations.
  • Operates on operational performance issues.
  • Interfaces with third-party carriers and suppliers to maximize service.
  • Works in export/import operations and supports regulatory and compliance compliance in addition to their responsibilities.
  • Resolves customer complaints and develops action plans where trends exist. Responsible for planning and executing all operations-related activities (import/export) of goods and products for customers.
  • Ensures that goods are received in a timely and efficient manner and in compliance with all customs and trade regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of maritime transportation regulations and functions, the freight brokerage industry, and freight routing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Systems knowledge and experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Invoicing skills
  • Proficiency in Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Basic logistics skills
