Job Description:

The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation, review and distribution of email communications to The UPS Store franchise network consisting of 5300+ franchisees and The UPS Store corporate employees and field support teams. A successful candidate will have exceptional content creation, writing, proofreading and copyediting capabilities, strong attention to detail and a firm understanding of effective communication strategies. Candidate must possess the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects with shifting priorities while maintaining a service-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams across multiple departments to effectively communicate strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • Monitor and Respond to Communications Inquiries: Daily interfacing with incoming franchisee emails to help answer questions and problem solve by routing them to the correct internal contacts. Daily interfacing with internal subject matter experts for various communications requests.
  • Content Creation: Draft and develop content for emails and other campaign tactics, including promotional banners, website, social networking and multimedia, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, engaging and aligned with business objectives tailored to multiple audiences.
  • Content Review: Proofread and copyedit communications for accuracy, grammar, and adhere to company tone and style guidelines, approval processes and timelines.
  • Distribution Management: Oversee email and campaign asset distribution processes, including coordinating and building newsletters and email blasts, and working with creative teams through asset delivery.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of emails and campaigns by performing regular data entry and reporting of key performance indicators, providing suggestions for improvement.
  • Tools and Platforms: Utilize email marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, PoliteMail, SharePoint) to design and send communications. Familiarity with basic email design principles (HTML experience is a plus).
  • Support Special Events and Video Productions: Provide content assistance on various communications needs for special events, including website content, mobile app content and other tasks as assigned. Provide production assistance on various video or multimedia projects, including pre-production logistics, on-site production support and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in communications, content creation, or email marketing role.

Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $29.90/hr to $48.55/hr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
