Job summary

This opportunity within One UPS Procurement is a Full-time Supervisor level position reporting to a respective Procurement Category Manager. Service Partner Procurement executes Procurement strategy related to the commercial and compliance aspects of UPS’ business relations with outside service providers (OSPs) in a predefined markets and geos.

In this position she/he manages proactively the supplier lifecycle in close cooperation with internal stakeholders. Procurement Supervisor is responsible for market research, financial analysis, tender preparation and execution, compensation negotiations and contract management following the UPS guidelines. This position requires a high level of analytical and communication skills.

Job description in detail

Initiation and execution of vendor sourcing activities to identify potential business partners for UPS.

  • Understand the country/business unit needs and priorities in terms of growth, needed capacity and operational framework in order to prioritize and secure OSP services on the market.
  • Promote outside recruitment channels and monitor vendor incoming leads.
  • Apply pre-defined vetting process on potential candidates
  • Capture and communicate vetted candidates with stakeholders
  • Conduct Request for Proposal/Quotation (RFP/RFQ) to select best value for money solutions for UPS.

Identification of saving opportunities

  • Analysis of spend data to identify saving potentials
  • Participation in function meetings.
    • Provide overview of ongoing and planned procurement activities
    • Gain knowledge in regards to stakeholder’s needs and discuss potential sourcing initiatives
  • Observe market trends to react on altered market conditions
  • Market analyses to reveal saving opportunities

Supplier analysis and control

  • Review key supplier’s performance
    • Develop KPI with stakeholders
  • Supplier selection for upcoming sourcing events

    • Supplier’s portfolio

  • Review supplier invoices to ensure adherence to negotiated contracts
  • Increase and optimize the control of all types of expenditures
  • Determine supplier business criticality and impact on UPS performance in cooperation with internal stakeholders

Negotiation, Awarding and Contracting

  • Negotiation of contract conditions with suppliers
  • Analysis and negotiation of compensation increase requests by OSPs
  • Review contracts to ensure adherence to contract compliance procedures and guidelines
  • Initiate and execute E-Bidding events
  • Awarding business to suppliers in cooperation with stakeholders

Annual procurement plan

  • Yearly saving initiative planning
  • Review procurement plan results and develop action plans (CAP) in case of deviations.
  • Follow up on CAP activities 

Procurement Reporting

  • Timely and accurate reporting of achieved results (Cost Saving worksheets, Deliver Report, Coupa Report)
  • Preparation and presentation of initiatives

From our future partner we expect

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - required
  • Very good Turkish and English skills in speaking, reading and writing. Any other language is an advantage.
  • High communication and presentation skills needed to build up and develop strong negations acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills and good command of Excel.
  • General understanding of UPS Small Package core operational processes.
  • General understanding of UPS OSP business model.
  • Experience and proven track of exposure to commercial negotiation with vendors and/or customers.
  • Willingness to travel and meet incumbent and new potential vendors.
  • Leaderships skills.
