Job Title: Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Leader 

Department: Finance 

Reports To: Finance Manager

Location: İstanbul

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Leader will oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounts receivable and collections department. This role involves supervising a team of AR professionals, ensuring the efficient collection of outstanding invoices, and maintaining accurate records. The AR Team Leader will work closely with other departments, particularly sales and customer service, to resolve payment issues and improve cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the AR and collections team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of customer payments and invoicing.

- Ensure timely collection of outstanding debts by developing and implementing strategies for credit control and debt recovery.

- Oversee the reconciliation of customer accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing and payment disputes, ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining company interests.

- Monitor AR aging reports and KPIs and implement actions to reduce overdue accounts.

- Prepare regular reports on AR performance, providing insights into cash flow, outstanding balances, and collection trends.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, resolving any issues related to payment terms and overdue invoices.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Provide training, support, and guidance to AR team members, ensuring continuous development and adherence to best practices.

- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline AR operations and reduce errors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

- Proven experience in accounts receivable management or a related finance role, with at least 2 years of experience.

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, AR processes, and financial regulations.

- Proficiency in using AR software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, etc.).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both internal teams and external clients.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced and international environment.
