Job Description:

The Statutory Accounting, Control & Reporting (ACR) Manager leads the team responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the end-to-end local statutory audit process and entity reporting activities in the Dallas Global Accounting Center (GAC). This role manages the governance, audit, & statutory reporting (US GAAP and Local GAAP) processes of 47 foreign entities, as well as month-end close activities for US and LATAM regions. This position collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders across the varying business functions to improve internal controls, enhance disclosure compliance and strengthen analysis. The Dallas ACR Manager reports to the Global GAC ACR Controller in Atlanta, Georga, US. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the end-to-end local statutory audit process and local accounts statutory filing in Americas Region, with proficiency to review audited financial statements US & local generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Oversees EY co-sourcing relationship, guiding partnership and seamless quality output
  • Ensures audit-readiness of financial data, including sufficient documentation of accuracy and completeness; collaborates with internal and external auditors during testing
  • Assesses, understands and manages interdependencies between work streams and drives collaboration
  • Supports ad hoc activities such as technical accounting expertise and special projects
  • Oversees smooth running of a high quality and timely month-end close
  • Manages reporting and stakeholder communication
  • Ensures compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), operating Level Agreements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manages and oversees work of the ACR Team, setting clear tone of high quality and deadline-driven culture
  • Coaches and develops supervisors and specialist
  • Supports and develops a culture of process management and improvement
  • Identifies and resolves key issues
  • Works collaboratively with Business Process Partner (BPP) Tower, Strategic Decision Support, Country Finance functions, Co-sourced vendor, Tax department and external Auditors to resolve issues
  • Possesses ability to learn new technology systems such as Workiva and other UPS systems, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • Must be located in the same geographical area as the job or be willing to self-relocate to the area
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts as necessary
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) or a minimum of three years of UPS experience
  • Qualified or partly qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Possesses audit and statutory accounting experience
  • Demonstrates detailed knowledge of accounting processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • US GAAP experience/shared service environment
  • Possesses previous experience working with an outsourced accounting function
  • Prior experience managing a diverse team
  • Spanish-speaking candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance, accounting or business
  • Prior experience using Oracle Cloud
