Job Description:

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for leading and supporting the operations of select The UPS Stores in the greater Austin, TX market. This role involves ensuring that all locations achieve operational excellence, meet or exceed financial goals, and provide world class customer service and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with standards
  • Monitor performance, analyze trends, and develop action plans to achieve goals and Key Performance Indicator targets for Customer Experience (CX), sales growth, and profitability
  • Develop and implement strategic market plans to drive growth and operational efficiency
  • Drive market adherence to broader organizational initiatives
  • Serve as small business retail consultant and mentor to Store Leaders; develop their business acumen. Act as first line of support for operational questions and where applicable seek answers from business partners
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to maintain applicant pool of talent and meet identified store staffing needs.
  • Administer performance management of Store Leaders. Conduct regular people reviews with above-store leadership and HRBP regarding development and succession planning
  • Maintain Operational Standards and Requirements (including The UPS Store and UPS training compliance) and Operational Excellence as defined by The UPS Store Standards Manual, Center Operations Manual and quarterly field playbook. Perform quarterly audits and additional, unannounced pop-in visits for quality assurance. Assist Area Operations Manager with business case for applicable deferral requests (e.g. window treatment required by landlord)
  • Supervise Store Leads in ensuring timely adherence to internal monthly and quarterly reporting requirements, customer account delivery and collection, local and state certifications and license renewals
  • Establish and manage training platform to support designated stores. Oversee trainer facilitation of New Hire Orientation (NHO) and new associate in-store training
  • Build and grow Print Services Hub and Spoke system, to include oversight of hub production staff, equipment and order fulfillment, and development and facilitation of outsourcing training (consultative sales, quoting, order management and fulfillment) for all team members at spoke stores
  • Serve as Ambassador for external prospecting efforts with local small to medium business community, Chambers of Commerce, Parent Teacher Associations, and others
  • Prepare and present reports on Area performance to senior management
  • Coordinate facilities preventative maintenance, repair, housekeeping, and upkeep with Area Project Coordinator
  • Assist Area Operations Manager with Transfer Center Opening Process (TCOP) of transferring stores and/or Center Opening Process (COP) of new stores as applicable

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a multi-unit manager or similar role in the retail industry
  • The UPS Store ‘Primary Operator’ training preferred. Will be a requirement upon hire
  • P&L experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with retail software and technology solutions, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Microsoft Dynamics / MPOS experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field preferred
