The Vice President of Network of the Future (NoF) will lead the development, design, and deployment of buildings and systems that support the company's automation initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing the optimization and evaluation of current automated systems, ensuring their performance is continually enhanced. You will also oversee the deployment of approved technologies released by the Corporate Materials Handling Steering Committee, which may include beta testing of new technologies. Additionally, the position will be responsible for monitoring industry innovations in automation that can reduce costs associated with human capital dependency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership to the engineering team, partnering with product development to define and implement new features and enhancements for automation systems.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product and program management teams to communicate external commitments and define a roadmap for the team’s efforts.
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Field escalated external customer issues or concerns and drive them to resolution in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Team Development & Autonomy: Promote team autonomy by assisting with project planning, prioritization, Agile process implementation, and skill development.
  • Engineering Growth & Performance: Support the growth of engineers by managing recruitment, goal setting, individual development plans, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Systems Optimization & Architectural Reviews: Provide technical guidance in optimizing systems and processes, participating in architectural reviews to ensure optimal performance.
  • Compliance, Risk & Vulnerability Assessment: Assess system compliance, risks, and vulnerabilities to ensure operational soundness, scalability, and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Global Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with peer teams globally on complex engineering efforts, ensuring architectural alignment, resource coordination, and adherence to implementation timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, with at least 7 years leading cross-functional teams in both remote and in-person environments.
  • Proven track record of strong leadership and team management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building automation systems, energy efficiency technologies, and automation trends.
  • written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Solid expertise in managing large-scale projects, with a focus on prioritization, resource management, and timely delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards is essential.
  • Location preference is Atlanta, GA
