Job Description:

Job Summary
This position gains exposure to Engineering from a Project Management perspective. The Summer Intern will work on targeted projects which contribute to the improvement of asset management processes. This could consist of currently deployed automation sortation and robotics initiatives across the UPS network, reporting on process improvement initiatives, or monitoring existing UPS maintenance process improvement initiatives.  A candidate will demonstrate excellent project management, time management, and people skills. A candidate will work with multiple levels of UPS employees and vendors to complete all assigned projects. This position is a flexible or remote work location depending on the selected candidate’s current location.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and meets project schedule
  • Collaborates with multiple engineering disciplines, UPS employees, and vendors
  • Apply and develop technical and soft skills through daily interactions with team members

Qualifications:

  • Rising Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or recent graduate within the last 24 months earning a Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Excellent written and oral communications, and people skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Basic MySQL skills (preferred)
  • Basic Power BI skills (preferred)
  • Basic AutoCAD software skills
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week
