Job Description:

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning and executing comprehensive research projects that contribute to the creation of innovative and high-quality experiences for UPS customers and stakeholders. This role involves leading all phases of research to inform strategy development, identify opportunities, define user requirements, and evaluate designs. We seek a candidate with experience in mixed methods research.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, moderate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative research studies.
  • Develop sound research questions aligned with stakeholder and business objectives, and determine the appropriate methodologies and tools needed to address research questions effectively.
  • Communicate research findings through clear, concise, and visually engaging presentations that tell compelling stories with data.
  • Advocate for the end user during meetings, working sessions, and workshops with team members, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of the design and development process.
  • Present research findings and actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams and clients, ensuring insights are translated into tangible design and business strategies.
  • Analyze research data to develop user requirements, consumer journeys, personas, and other conceptual frameworks to describe the end-user experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with other researchers, designers, and strategists to integrate research-based recommendations into design and business solutions.
  • Plan and execute concept and usability tests, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate prototypes and existing products.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging methodologies, and technologies that can enhance research practices.

Experience Guidelines:

  • 2-3 years of experience conducting and managing research projects including design research, service design, digital design, and digital product innovation.
  • Primary expertise in either qualitative or quantitative research methods, with a strong foundation in mixed methods research and analysis.
  • Proficient understanding of digital trends, business models, and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex research findings into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and business needs, demonstrating the ability to pivot and realign research objectives as required to meet dynamic project goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear, powerful, and concise presentations.
  • Familiarity or experience with service design, product innovation, or having a background in design (UX, industrial, product, human factors) is a plus.
  • Effective at engaging with team members across all functions, conveying research implications passionately and convincingly to diverse audiences.
  • This position may also be responsible for managing some outsourced contractors or vendors.

Tools:

  • Proficiency with online research platforms such as UserTesting, Qualtrics, etc.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma is a plus.

The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia and will require commuting to office.  Employer will not sponsor a visa for this position.  Must be currently in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself.
