JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Supervisor will handle a wide spectrum of general accounting and leadership responsibilities within the UPS Digital Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate thrives in a setting that requires a balance of moving swiftly while not missing a beat when it comes to details, accuracy and organization.

Primary Duties

  • Assist with month-end close, preparing journal entries, B/S and P&L account reconciliations, and variance analysis for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Assists with the preparation and review of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Assists with researching and documenting the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
  • Process payroll and related reporting.
  • Assist with internal audits conducted by UPS, providing necessary support as needed.
  • Identify procedural gaps to develop efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
  • Attends planning meetings with internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Human Resources, etc.) to discuss annual planning.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Intercompany accounting experience
  • 1-2 years of experience supervising direct reports
  • Oracle Cloud experience
  • Strong technical experience to support with all accounting and reporting activities.
  • High attention to detail and staying on top of deadlines is a must.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Admin, Accounting, Finance – Required
  • Master’s Degree – Business Admin, Accounting - Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification – Preferred
