Program Requirements
Attending JCTC or UofL? We cover both!
Must be actively working as Next Day Air part-time hub, ramp or freight employee in Worldport operations (Shifts start between 9 pm and 4 am.)
However, to utilize MC benefits at the University of Louisville (UofL), If you have less than 60 transferable college credit hours or have not earned an associate degree, you must meet one of the following requirements to participate in the UofL MC program:
- -Completed 60 transferable college credit hours or have earned an associate degree.
- -Cumulative 3.0 HS GPA or greater (GED 530) AND 21 ACT/106 SAT composite or Superscore.
- -Cumulative 3.3 high school GPA or greater (GED 562) no ACT/SAT test score required.
MC strictly adheres to these requirements, so no rounding up! If you do not meet the MC UofL eligibility requirements, you can either attend Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) to participate in the MC program or take advantage of the UPS Earn & Learn program until you reach the 60 transferable hours or have obtained an associate degree.
*Beginning fall 2020, MC will consider a first-time MC student's ACT Superscore of 21 or higher or the SAT Superscore equivalent of 1060, if the minimum 21 ACT or 1060 SAT composite score is not met.
The ACT Superscore is the average of the student's highest Math, Science Reasoning, Reading, and English section scores. The SAT Superscore is the sum of the student's highest Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing scores.
**Students must be eligible to complete the FAFSA in order to participate in Metro College. Do I have to attend college full-time while participating in Metropolitan College? 100% tuition paid at the University of Louisville or Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) up to full-time undergraduate in-state rate per credit hour.
Semester bonus each fall and spring semester if you successfully complete 6 or more credit hours of $850 (before taxes).
Earn a bonus if you earn an associate degree or diploma, and when you earn a bachelor’s degree of up to $2350 (before taxes).
Receive up to $250 per semester in course fee payment assistance for the fall and spring semesters.
Weekly paycheck through UPS (students typically work between 15-25 hours a week with the exception of Peak Season, November-December).
Access to CREW (Connecting Resources, Education, and Workforce) provides comprehensive career development services for all MC and JCTC students and alumni. MC Student Development Counselors provide a variety of services to assist students in clearly articulating academic and career goals as well as in developing customized action plans to strengthen skills and obtain related experience.
Access to the High Five Program presented by Commonwealth Credit Union (CCU) that is a free program designed to help MC students create a budget, save money, make sound financial decisions, and build their wealth.
Access toCareer Pathways Career Pathways which are partnerships that Metro College has developed with industry leaders to provide well-defined paths directly from high education to your chosen career field.
Must pass each class with a C- or better. Must continue to work at UPS through Metro College agreement deadline for each semester. Employment Commitment Dates: May 31 (for spring MC tuition/fee payment assistance) and June 30 (for spring MC bonuses), September 30 (for summer MC benefits ), December 31 (for fall MC benefits).
